When Primetime Millionaire originally aired (’99-’02) Broadband Internet was still not that popular and wikipedia and answers sites were just starting up.
@MAALLOW5 It would work if it was live, but it is aired a month or a few weeks after filmed. But, you could tell im that you are going on millionaire that night, then he can just be on the computer with Google already up, and as soon as you call him he searches away.

Isn’t that cheating? I thought the point of “phone a friend” was to rely on their friend’s knowledge. If they’re allowed to use the Internet, they might as well be given the answer. I think people would be a little more annoyed if that was the million dollar question.
